Please review the notice that was sent out to middle school parents who wish to have their students participate in sports.

SHIELD Testing Consent Form

SHIELD testing is for unvaccinated students who want to participate in weekly testing provided by the district. Please fill out a consent form if you would like your child to participate.

This has been a brief week full of learning for all of us. Thank you for placing your trust in the teachers and staff of Northwood Middle School.


-In order to keep up with all the activities, please bookmark this Activities Calendar so you don't miss a thing.


-Students will be using a MAP Accelerator as it "provides a personalized learning pathway for every learner." For more information, please see the flyer below.


-Due to security measures taken by the District, the emails of teachers are not on the website. If you need to get in touch via email with teachers, please know that you can get access to their teacher's email by clicking on the schedule via the Parent Portal.

6th grade physicals due OCTOBER 15, 2021

All physicals and required vaccines are due by October 15, 2021 by Illinois State Law. Failure to provide such documentation could result in your child being excluded from school.

AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES

Games and other activities already begun! Please know that all spectators will be required to wear masks during the entire game.

Mathematics Office Hours

Regular Office Hours will be held on Wednesday afternoons from 3:00 to 4:00pm in Room 257. All students are welcome and encouraged to request a meeting. Students may set up a time to ask questions, get help on problems, clarify directions or anything else they may need! Just send an email to schedule a time.

Join Debate Club!!

For all 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Huskies


Do you like to argue? Do you want to get better at winning those "exchange of views" with your friends and family members? Do you just want to sharpen your discourse skills? Then DEBATE CLUB is for you!


Come join Mrs. Cohen and Mr. Mall for the first Debate Club meeting of the year on FRIDAY, September 10th after school (2:50 pm - 4:00 pm) in Mr. Mall's room (126). If you are not sure about it, come check it out and see what you think.

Northwood Gives Back

Open to 7th and 8th grade students:


Do you love making a positive difference in your community while having fun with your friends? Then Northwood Gives Back is the place for you!


All 7th and 8th graders are invited to attend an informational meeting on September 13th immediately after school in Mrs. Cunningham’s room.

Regular practices will begin on Thursday Sept. 9th from 2:50 to 4:00 pm in the STEM lab.

The Anti-Drug (CTAD) Coalition

Community--The Anti-Drug (CTAD) Coalition is here to make the drug-free choice the easy choice for our youth. We create newletters, factsheets and other resources for parents. CTAD partners with the Lake County Health Department that coordinates student and parent alcohol prevention campaigns with both middle schools.
