Stremel Newsletter
September 4, 2023
Dear Parents,
This week, I will send your child's Quick Card QR Code. Please keep a lookout for it. Quick Card is an easy way for students to log in and find the online programs/apps we use at school. You will need to type in cloud.smusd.org to log in to the new system and then hold up the Quick Card to your computer camera to sign in. Once you are logged in, you will see the various learning resources. You will find more Apps in My Classes or the blue backpack icon at the bottom of your screen. I will introduce the different apps/links one at a time and will use them during our reading and math rotations. Last week, the students started RAZ-Kids. This is a reading program that has leveled e-books with comprehension quizzes. The students are encouraged to do RAZ Kids at home as well. Thank you for your support! To login to Raz Kids the Teacher's Username is "stremel2023" and the password is "the picture of the bunny."
We have great air-conditioning in the classroom. It would be helpful to have your child pack a light sweater/sweatshirt if they are getting cold in the classroom. Please make sure to put your child's name on all of their personal items: sweaters, jackets, water bottles, etc.
Thank you for helping your child practice their yellow fluency folder. If your child did not return their folder on Friday, please help them return their folder on this Tuesday. I will send the yellow fluency folder home again, on Tuesday, with a new passage to practice. Thank you for your support.
We will have our first spelling test this Friday. If you feel your child needs extra help reading and spelling the words, please help your child practice the spelling words this week.
Also, Mr. Bell, our STEM teacher, asked that we let you know that on Tuesday, during STEM class, the students will be using food coloring in their water for their aqueducts. So please do not have your child wear any clothes that they would not want any stains on.
Have a great week, Mrs. Stremel

Then the school will sing happy birthday to your child.
