Visit to Red Oak ISD
My Visit to Red Oak ISD
I was so impressed with all Red Oak ISD has been able to accomplish in such a short time! ROISD boarded the Energy Bus with us back in August of 2018 and became our first certified district in the state of Texas! By the end of September, this team's disciple referrals and attendance data compared to last year (for the first five weeks of school) had decreased!
It was an amazing visit! Special thanks to all the principals, teachers, and students who provided me with an amazing experience!
Great Idea from Red Oak Middle School
This idea is from Cathy Isaacks, Assistant Principal/Energy Bus Ambassador at Red Oak Middle School!
Each week the "CEO" passes The Energy Bus to someone new (one for 6th grade campus, one for main 7-8 grade campus). We started this the first week of staff development and this has been a fun way for everyone to be involved... custodians, office staff, teachers ... everyone!

H.A.P.P.Y Week at Barkdull Faulk Elementary
In 2013, Cleoria Dunn, Music Teacher at Barkdull Faulk Elementary, heard the song Happy by Pharell Williams and she fell in love! She said that she felt rejuvenated as she listened to the lyrics and noticed that she felt happier. Ms. Dunn wanted to share this feeling with others.
Happiness became her mission, her passion. She created an acronym of what happy meant to her---Hilarious, Affectionate, Passionate, People, Yearning to Serve Others.
She wrote a letter to the mayor and asked if they could have a day of service in honor of H.A.P.P.Y. The day would include assisting those that are less fortunate and serving in the community. The mayor loved the idea so much that he decided to dedicate a full week to happiness. This is how H.A.P.P.Y. WEEK was born!
This year marks Ms. Dunn's 6th year honoring and celebrating H.A.P.P.Y. WEEK and she would be honored if you, her Energy Bus Family would join her.
The activities for H.A.P.P.Y. WEEK are listed below. For more information on how your school can participate, please feel free to contact Ms. Dunn at Cleoria.Dunn@mcschools.net.
