ADL Charger News
September 6, 2019
From the Principal's Desk
Dear ADL Families,
We have had a strong start to the new school year at ADL! We have spent the first days of school making connections, team-building, and slowly wading into new learning with our Chargers. This first newsletter of the school year includes a few important updates. Thank you for your support, and welcome back!
Sincerely,
Jennifer Wood
Acceptable Use Forms to Return
All students have been given hard copies of our ADL Acceptable Use Agreement and Child Online Protection Privacy Act (COPPA) letters to bring home to parents/guardians to read together, sign, and return to school. These agreements will allow your student to begin accessing a Chromebook for instructional purposes at ADL. Please review these letters with your child, and return them to school.
School Photos- Cost Assistance
School Picture Day is scheduled for Thursday, September 12th. We have a limited number of free packages available for families who need assistance. We would like to support as many families who are in need as possible. If you need assistance, or if you would like to donate a package, please contact School Counselor Jess Librizzi. Ms. Librizzi can be reached by email at jlibrizzi@ewsd.org.
Emergency Drills
At the beginning of each school year we review our emergency procedures with our staff and students. We practice monthly safety drills to ensure our students know what to do in the event of an emergency. During the month of September we practice a regular fire drill and a lockdown drill per state regulations. We had our first fire drill of the year today, and all students did an outstanding job following expectations. The district is planning a Community School Safety forum later this month. Stay tuned for details regarding this event.
ADL Fall Open House
Our annual Open House will be held on Thursday, September 19th from 6-7PM. The agenda for this evening will be sent to families next week. We hope to see you there!
