Why do families need a Parent Portal account?
- Give permission for their students to be in the yearbook and attend field trips *
- Receive messages from their child's teacher
- Update their contact information #
- Monitor food service balances and add money to accounts
- Check attendance
- Verify health census information
* Without a Parent Portal account, families will not be able to give their permission for their child(ren) to attend field trips and be included in the yearbook.
# Accurate contact information (phone, email, address) is important information for the safety of your child(ren). We cannot contact you if we don't have the correct information.
If you do not remember your username and/or password, please send an email to ICSUPPORT@ISD77.ORG.
If you have not yet set-up an account, please visit Linda Gravley in the office so she can assist you. YOU WILL NEED PHOTO IDENTIFICATION when setting up your account.
Why did the supply list change for 3rd, 4th & 5th graders?
We have the needed supplies (assignment notebooks, plastic dividers/folders and pencil pouches) here at school and families will be able to purchase these during entrance conferences.
Please bring $10 to entrance conferences for each of your children in 3rd, 4th or 5th grade.
Who are the other parents who have a child in kindergarten?
Whether you are doing a happy dance or can't stop the tears (or anywhere in between!), come enjoy some treats, juice and coffee with others who share the milestone of your child starting their first day of kindergarten at Franklin.
Mrs. Berg, Franklin School Counselor, will have information and tips for helping your child have a successful start to their school year and you will be able to meet other parents from your child's classroom. Stop in for Coffee with the Counselor anytime between 8:00-8:45 on Thursday, September 7th! Follow the signs from the kindergarten classrooms.
Why should my child comb their hair for entrance conferences?
Is Franklin looking for playground supervisors?
What dates do families need to know in preparation for the school year?
August 2017
Dear Franklin Families,
As the summer draws to a close, the Franklin staff is excited to welcome you and your students to the building. Included in this letter are important dates for you and your child(ren) and on the back is an UPDATED supply list specific to Franklin (Franklin is at the top). We ask that you do not buy the items highlighted in black as we will have the items we need your students to have available for purchase at Franklin.
August 22(Tuesday) & 23(Wednesday) (7:30am-4:00pm) Sign Up for Entrance Conferences & See Class Lists
Please enter from North 2nd street through Door #1 (by the flag pole). Class lists and sign up sheets for you to schedule a time to meet with your child’s teacher on September 5 or
September 6 will be posted in the gym by the office. Students should not come to the building without a parent/guardian.
August 24 (Thursday) & 25(Friday) (7:30am-4:00pm) Call in to Sign Up for Entrance Conferences
If you are unable to come to Franklin on August 22 or 23, you can call the office to schedule a conference time. You can reach the office at 345-4287. We will not schedule entrance conferences over the phone before Thursday, August 24.
September 5 (Tuesday) & Sept. 6 (Wednesday) Entrance Conferences
Both the parent/guardian and their student should attend the conference together. This conference is an opportunity for you and your child to meet your child’s teacher and share goals, interests, excitement, etc. You should also bring in your child’s school supplies. Please remember to bring along the completed paperwork that you picked up at conference sign up times.
** Lifetouch will be set up in the upper gym during entrance conference times to take your child/children’s fall school pictures. These will be used in the yearbook, so all students should have their picture even if you don’t order a package. **
First Day of School will be Thursday, September 7th (8:00am-2:40pm)
We are looking forward to a great year and thank you in advance for your support of the Franklin Falcons.
Sincerely,
Travis Olson
