Principal's Message

Dear Adelante Selby Spanish Immersion families,

We have had a great last few weeks of school here with a successful Open House, the 5th grade Wax Museum, the 2nd/3rd Grade Danny G Dance Performances, the 4th grade Columbia Trip, Field Day, and lots of great end of the year Art in Action projects. As we enter our last week of school, I want to thank everyone for supporting our students learning in two languages and growth this year. We are truly fortunate to have such a strong school community! I hope everyone has a safe, relaxing, and fun Summer vacation with family and friends! I have included below next year's School Calendar which is now approved by our school district.

Reminders for the Last Week of school:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday: Early Dismissal at 1:25pm (TK 12:45pm) each day.

    Spirit Dress Days!

    • Monday: Dress up as "Favorite Character" (book/movie/TV)
    • Tuesday: Dress up with The letter "T" (anything that starts with T, e.g., "Turtle" or "Tiburon")
    • Wednesday: Dress up from "Decades - 30s - 90s"
  • Thursday, Last Day of School: Early Dismissal at 11:45am
  • Spirit Dress Day: Twins/Triplets
  • 5th Grade Promotion Ceremony at 3:00pm: Front PARKING LOT CLOSED All Day

We encourage all TK-2nd grade parents for Drop Off and Pick Up to park outside and walk your child in to the drop off area or pick them up by the Office. Be patient if you choose to stay in your car as the line will take longer than normal.

2nd and 3rd Grade Danny G Dance Assemblies

The 2nd and 3rd Grade Dance Assemblies went very well. Thanks to the teachers and parents for the wonderful outfits and vibrant colors! Thank you to Maestro Danny G for bringing the joy of dance to our students all year long! Here is the link to the Zoom recording in case you missed it: 2nd and 3rd Grade Dance Assemblies May 27th

Library News

We want to again thank the Redwood City Public Library and North Fair Oaks Library for giving our students a free book to promote Summer Reading.

  • REMINDER All school library books are now overdue. Please return your books to the library as soon as possible.

2021/22 Yearbooks

Yearbooks have arrived! There are still copies available for sale. Online orders will be fulfilled on June 6. Yearbooks will also be for sale before and after school ($20 each, cash only) June 7-9.

A BIG SHOUT OUT and MUCHAS GRACIAS to Penelope Cifuentes for volunteering and publishing a wonderful yearbook.

Unidos PTO Board Member Positions for 2022/23

It is time to elect board members and assign committee chairs to serve Unidos PTO for the 2022-23 school year! We ask that anyone interested please sign up at the links below. This is not a commitment, but just an indication that you are interested. You can put your name in multiple slots if you have multiple interests, and we encourage more than one name per slot. This will help us bring in more volunteers for a robust PTO board next year!

Board members will be elected during our In Person June 7, 2022, PTO board meeting at 6:00pm in the Library. Anyone interested in a board position should attend the meeting. Only current PTO board members may vote on these positions. Committee chair positions are open to any volunteer, you do not need to be elected.

If you would consider being a member of the PTO Board, enter your name here (Membership Toolkit log in required).

If you would like to help with an event, fundraiser, or program at the school, sign up here.

Pandemic Recovery Framework.

The Redwood City School District (RCSD) recently updated its COVID-19 protocols aligning practices to new guidance provided by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and now reflected in the Pandemic Recovery Framework. The new guidance specifies that asymptomatic exposed students and employees, regardless of their COVID-19 vaccination status or location of exposure, may continue to take part in all aspects of schooling, including sports and extracurricular activities, unless they develop symptoms or test positive for COVID-19. It is strongly recommended that exposed students and employees wear a well-fitting mask indoors around others for at least 10 days following the date of last exposure, if not already doing so.
