Student Cell Phones
We would like to take a moment to review the policy for student cell phones. All student cell phones shall remain turned off and in the students' backpack for the entire school day. As parents ourselves, we recognize how important it is for you to communicate with your child and know they are safe. Your child is safe while at Bridge Valley. We make student and staff safety a top priority. If your child needs to contact you they are permitted to do so using the classroom or office phone.
We also understand that your child may be responsible for walking home or getting off the bus alone, or with younger siblings, and they must call you to let you know they have arrived safely. As students exit the building they are permitted to use their phones. Some bus drivers allow phones to be used for listening to music or playing games while on the ride to or from school. However, students should not take photos or videos while on the school bus. Taking, sharing, or posting photos or videos violates the privacy rights of all others on the bus. If you or your child has a concern involving the bus they should report it to the office. We will then be able to view the bus video and address any issues.
We value the trust you place in us to educate and care for your children each day. Know that we will communicate important information to you as soon as it happens. We have a variety of safety procedures and protocols in place to make Bridge Valley a safe and happy learning environment for all.

BVE Safety of the Month

Spotlight on Support Staff
This month we would like to introduce you to Mrs. Deb VanCamp. Mrs. VanCamp has been a part of the Bridge Valley team since the beginning, when it opened for the 2004-2005 school year. She is an educational assistant and works closely with Mrs. Reynolds.
Mrs. VanCamp has three children and two grandchildren. She loves family dinners, holidays, traveling, and spoiling her grandchildren. She feels that the best part of her job are the students. While she enjoys working with the staff and interacting with families, it truly is the kids who inspire her and motivate her to come to work each day. Mrs. VanCamp loves working with students and listening to their stories. She notes that it is fun to hear about their family traditions and weekend outings.
Mrs. VanCamp would like our families to know just how near and dear the children are to her heart. She views it as a great privilege to work with your children and she does not take her responsibility lightly. She cares greatly for our students and wants the best for them.
We thank Mrs. VanCamp, and all of our instructional Educational Assistants, for the work they do each day, preparing our students to be confident and enthusiastic learners.
