Students of the Month

The BIG 5-0

Students that earn PERFECT ATTENDANCE, including NO TARDIES, for 50 days from March 2nd-May 17 will be rewarded with a movie, gym time, Windmill Chill ice cream, and a chance to win CASH prizes on Monday, May 21st.

AdvancED External Review

On April 8th-11th our school corporation will be hosting an AdvancED External Review as a part of a process to become accredited. Each school strives for continuous improvement by aligning their school improvement plan, mission/vision statements, data collection and stakeholder surveys.

Hospitality Award -CONGRATS!!!

SHS athletic dept has been awarded the 2018 SWIOA "Hospitality Award". This is the 11th time the Raiders have brought home this honor!

In conjunction with this award 2 seniors athletes will receive scholarships for their sportsmanship!

Technology Teacher of the Month

Congratulations to our Technology Teacher of the Month, Mrs. Boeglin! A member of the SHS Schedule Committee, Mrs. Boeglin helped organize our Fall 2018 New Course Presentation and Break-Out Sessions for our students. Utilizing SignUpGenius, students were able to easily sign-up and register for break-out course sessions that they were interested in learning more about! Thanks for all your hard work and making all of this possible, Mrs. Boeglin!

SHS Band

Congratulations to LAUREN BAILEY for receiving a GOLD Superior rating on her Group I Flute solo at the ISSMA State Solo & Ensemble Festival

in Indianapolis on February 24.

The SHS Marching Raider Band will be traveling to Orlando, Florida over Spring Break! We will be marching in the 9:45 AM parade on Tuesday, March 27 @ Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom. In addition to our performance, we will have the opportunity to enjoy the parks and sites. Thanks to everyone who have helped with our fundraising efforts. GO BAND!

Course Planning Presentations

Students had the opportunity to attend breakout sessions to learn more about the courses offered at SHS. The new daily schedule was explained, as well as, new courses, AP, and Dual Credit courses for next school year.

Freshmen Trivia

Free tutoring program through Indiana University called Indiana Kids.

This program provides free mentoring, tutoring and educational workshops to middle and high school students across the state. Services include:

· Tutoring: Virtual tutoring is available Monday - Friday from 4 – 9 PM but closed during IU’s holiday and quarter breaks.

· Mentoring: Each student will be matched with a college student who will serve as a mentor. Mentors can provide advice on academics and positive choices along with college and career goals.

· Workshops: IU, Bloomington and/or IUPUI will sponsor and host workshops allowing students, parents, guardians and/or mentors to connect in person as requested.

Rose Hulman Homework Hotline

World Book Online

The Huntingburg Public Library's World Book subscription has recently become more user friendly for both students and teachers. As of last week, the subscription is now open to anyone with the universal user name/password and a library card number is NO LONGER required.
