Winter Yoga Workshops

Relax, Restore, Renew

Yin & Yoga Nidra

Winter is an ideal time to restore and transform our bodies and minds. It is a time to consider stepping off worn paths of behaviors, beliefs, and habits, and discovering new directions that align and resonate with your true purpose.

Yet many of us allow our minds to "hijack" our experience of the present-- by overwhelming ourselves with lists of things to do and say in the future--while also ruminating on past conversations, memories and events. These action-packed "movies of the mind" can take hold and steal our energy, turning our lives into emotional reactions; impacting our focus; causing sleeplessness; and creating stress and dis-ease.

Our minds and bodies need true rest and relaxation, slowing down the brainwaves and constant chatter. This conservation of energy provides space for the body to heal and restore. Yoga and Yoga Nidra can help.

Join Lisa for a candlelight Yin practice, followed by Yoga Nidra, a guided deep relaxation which creates the clarity and space for this very important work.

What is Yin Yoga?

Yin Yoga is a soft, still, deep and nurturing practice. Designed to create space in the body and enhance elasticity of the fascia, it also allows energy to move more freely throughout the body. This practice will include gentle guidance to enhance your experience, then time for you to focus on your breath and body while music selected for its restorative & contemplative frequencies plays softly in the background.

What is Yoga Nidra?

The class will end with Yoga Nidra, taking you to a state of meditative, restorative rest. Yoga Nidra is an extended guided meditation designed to slow down the thoughts and chatter of the active mind. You will lie in a supine position, with the comfort of props and blankets. The only thing you "do" is focus on your breath, and listen to the directions of your instructor.

Please dress in warm, comfortable clothing, and bring your favorite blanket (and any other supports to make your experience comfortable). Blankets and bolsters are also provided if needed.

Cleanse & Awaken Primal Energy Yoga Workshop (KS)

Friday, January 19, 2019 7:30-9:00 PM

Join Certified Yoga Therapist, Yvonne Clark (C-IAYT, E-RYT500, teaching yoga since 2006) for a Gentle Yoga Workshop focused on specific yoga poses designed to clear out the body, both physically and energetically.

Our bodies are naturally healthy, and we are connected to a source of infinite energy and feelings of health and wellness. Environmental, emotional, physical and mental factors often interfere with this naturally harmonious state. If we continue to hold stress and tension over a period of time, it can create blockages, pain and even disease.

This mindful yoga therapy approach focuses on six key movements of the spine. Using gentle yoga poses linked with breathing techniques, participants work to eliminate any harmful stress and tension being stored in the body and mind. Movement and directing the breath, the prana, can be used to unlock and release blockages. Once blockages are cleansed, Primal Energy is awakened at the base of the spine and nervous system. Cleansing and awakening this Shakti Energy can be a powerfully transformative experience which may be felt deeply as restorative and energizing; encouraging feelings of euphoria and bliss. No prior experience necessary - beginners and seasoned yogis alike are welcome!

Yvonne is also a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider (YACEP). Yoga Instructors can earn Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Credits by attending this workshop.
