SME newsletter for families and the community
Dear Parents,
I know construction and a growing school are making the car line difficult. Typically we are finished by 2:45. By Friday of last week, we were finished at 2:50. I am very pleased that we are able to finish at that time. I know that it is hectic for 30 minutes, but it will get better and better. See some tips below for ways you can help us.
Thank you for entrusting your children to us! They are wonderful and we love that they are back in school.
Hope everyone has a great week!
MAP testing
MAP testing begins the week of August 21 and extends until September. MAP testing is a way that educators learn more about their students. It is a national assessment that lets us know where your student is performing. Students in grades K5-5th grade will take MAP testing on the computer. It is important for students to do their best so that we know what they can do and where they still need support. Visit here to learn more about MAP: https://www.nwea.org/family-toolkit/
TECH IT HOME
TECH IT HOME fees are still being collected for all students in grades K5 - 5th grade. Due to the increasing cost of our insurance on student devices, Tech It Home Fees will be $25 for the 2023-2024 school year. All K5-5th grade students will receive a device to go home this school year. Devices are not to go home until the fee is paid and we have cleared students to begin taking them home. This fee may be paid by cash, check or on My School Bucks. This fee covers insurance if the screen is broken, the keyboard stops working, etc. Whether you are taking it home or not, the $25 still covers the cost of upkeep.
Mrs. Terry's Helpful Tips for the Carline
1. Please stay in your car if at all possible. Adults are there to help load and unload.
2. Please do not use the side parking lot unless you have a pass from the front office to do so.
3. 3K and 4K may be dropped off in the back of the school between 7:45 and 8:00 am.
4. Please try to have your student enter and exit your vehicle from the curbside. It is very dangerous to have them go around the car because of traffic on the opposite side. I know some of you have car seat issues and we will try to help with that.
5. Please be patient as we continue to work through ways to make our carline safe and quick for you and your children.
