Marching Demo and Band Family BBQ Fundraiser - Friday, August 12th
Marching Demo and Band Family BBQ Fundraiser - Friday, August 12th
What: Come get a sneak peek of the 2022 Marching Show and see what our Falcon Band members have been working on for the last 3 weeks during summer band camp.
You will also get the opportunity to play and march with your child on the field after the demo. Then head to the CLHS Commons for a chance to socialize, meet new families and enjoy a BBQ plate (Baked potato, toppings, drinks, and desserts). Orders were placed during E-night. No additional orders will be taken that evening. If you did not place an order, you are still welcome to come socialize with our band family.
Where and When: This Friday, August 12th, starting at 6:30pm at the track/football field behind Kruger Field House.
Weather will be warm so please wear appropriate attire to be outside for about 45 minutes.
At about 7:15, proceed to the Commons to pick up your BBQ tickets and enjoy your meal.
We need your help! We need dessert donations and volunteers to help with BBQ event. Please see the Signup Genius links below to help.

Marching Uniform Distribution: VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Marching Uniforms will be distributed August 8-11 (Monday-Thursday) from 4:00-5:30. We need 5 volunteers to help each day (volunteers are asked to arrive at 3:45). On Monday, we will start with the smaller/taller students and Seniors first. Then we will work through Juniors, Sophomores and Freshman until everyone has a uniform assigned to them.
On these afternoons, we will be handing out different sizes of the marching bibbers (the overalls) and shakos (the hats) to the kids for them to try on. Once they find a bibber that fits, we will help them adjust the pant length. Don’t worry, this DOES NOT involve any sewing - the pant lengths are self-adjusting using snaps on the inside bottom of the pant legs. After the pant lengths have been adjusted, we will need to iron the bottom edge to set the hem. Again, don’t worry - the pant material is easy to work with and the bottom edge will be easy to set with a quick press. We will likely be through with handing out the bibbers to all the grade levels by Wednesday, and Thursday afternoon will probably just be for ironing, so anyone volunteering on Thursday will need to bring an iron. After the bibbers are all assigned and pressed, the students will take them home to keep for the duration of marching season. Washing instructions will be provided later so the students can wash their uniforms at home.
Marching uniform distribution is not as complicated as it sounds, but it does require several volunteers each day, so if you can help please let me know. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks to the Popsicle Posse!
Thank you so much to all of our Popsicle Posse volunteers! I know our hardworking band students appreciated their sweet (and cold) treat every day and the smiling face that went along with it! It was a great opportunity to get to know more band parents and to support the efforts of our band directors.
Didn't get the opportunity to help out with Popsicle Posse? There are many other opportunities to volunteer throughout marching band season! It takes a village!
