Tips for being safe on the Internet
1. Make Passwords Secure and Private
Use unique and hard-to-guess passwords and use different passwords for every account.
2. Report Online Scams
Report if you're a victim of online fraud to the Internet Crime Complaint Center and/or your local police department.
3. Guard Your Personal Info
Don't give out your social security number or other important information and never respond to requests for personal or account information online.
4. Read Through User Agreements
Make sure you're aware of what you're agreeing and find out what their policies are.
5. Only Shop at Secure Sites
Make sure the website has a little padlock next to the web address and keep security software up-to-date.
6. Don't Overshare
Never give out too much information about yourself on social media or for other websites.
