Challenge A
Where students take ownership of their education!
Our children can achieve great things.
Students twelve years and older are introduced to the Challenge work as they encounter the joys and challenges of this discussion-charged program. It is a mix of grammar and dialectic materials as well as an introduction to basic rhetorical skills. This fulfilling program prepares students for the later Challenge years.
Here is what we will cover over the year as a class:
*Research, illustrate, and write reports on astronomy, geology, plants, invertebrates, fish, birds, amphibians, reptiles, and mammals. Students will also learn and participate in a science fair project. Additionally, we will learn all of the parts of 10 human body systems.
*Read 10 inspirational novels and write 10 persuasive essays.
*Complete 120 Math Lessons covering pre-algebra math laws, rules, and formulas.
*Learn over 200 Latin vocabulary words, plus how to decline and conjugate those words.
*Translate passages both from Latin to English and English to Latin.
*Read one apologetics book, and a book on recognizing bad reasoning. Memorize 57 catechisms as well as the definitions of 38 logical fallacies.
*We will learn to draw the entire world from memory, including approx. 190 countries and capitals, as well as numerous prominent features around the globe. In addition, we will learn the definitions of 152 geography terms, plus illustrate our own geography dictionaries and atlases.
They will have accomplished all of this while taking OWNERSHIP of their education, learning how to order their day, fixing their eyes and hearts on Jesus along with the pursuit of goodness, truth, and beauty!
Doesn't this sound exciting?! If you or someone you know has a child that will be 12 or older by 9/30/17 and you are searching for a Classical, Christian education, please connect with me. It is not too late!
