Math Professional Development

There will be a Eureka Math Professional Learning Opportunity for any teachers who use Engage NY to attend on Friday, August 5 from 8:30 - 3:30. Teachers will sign up in PD Express before school ends. The title of the session is "Customization and Preparation of Eureka Math Modules". This session empowers teachers to customize and prepare lessons for their students without compromising the fidelity of the program. The first half of the day will be spent with the consultant walking them through a 3-step planning protocol. The second half of the day will be working in grade-specific groups to plan instruction for the beginning of the year modules. Sessions will be grade-banded K-2 and 3-5. Space has not been secured at this moment, but we are currently looking for 2 spaces that hold 75 teachers each at tables and chairs with backs on them. Please consider signing up for this professional development to increase your knowledge and familiarity with Engage NY/ Eureka Math.

Techie of the Week!

Mrs. Navis

Ms. Navis' class has had the procedure all year for having appropriate for school images only as their Chromebook and gmail backrounds. The class decided on their themes early on. Today while visiting their buddies a student shared with a second grader that his background was not school appropriate and helped him find a better image. Wow! This goes to show that while our students huff and puff they will eventually mirror our neurons. Please feel free to book me in the first few weeks of school to set this standard in your room. It will pay off.

A Word from Mrs. Porter

Please complete your End of Year Green Packet by June 4th. When Chromebooks are locked up we sometimes get brain blocks on what we can do since we have used them all year. Here is a doc to use or add ideas to for cool activities to do next week. Click here. Have a great last week!
