Teacher Appreciation
This year has been full of curveballs and our teachers have been knocking it out of the park! During the upcoming conferences, we'd like to show our appreciation and spoil them with a snack attack. Given that we need to be extra careful with food donations this year, we are looking for donations of pre-packaged snack sized items. Please take a look at our sign up genius and donate if you are able.

All items should be brought into school or dropped off at Gayman on Wednesday, March 24th. Please direct any questions to Jen Kanyok at ghsapres@gmail.com.
GHSA appreciates your support this year more than ever.

Welcome to GroupVine
Over the next few weeks, you can expect to receive an initial welcome email to your email listed in the Gayman Directory. You’ll have the ability to opt-in to emails from GHSA for ongoing communications!
We are excited to see how this can help foster and develop our relationships with you and hope the highlights of the system will increase engagement. For more information, click here.
Spring Parent Teacher Conferences
Please note: 2nd Trimester conferences will be held the afternoon of March 25th and 26th. We look forward to talking with you soon!
Gayman Science Fair Update
Calling all scientists! Thank you for joining our first-ever virtual science fair! Sign ups are now closed, and we are thrilled to have 105 participants! Please use the resources posted on the Gayman Science Fair website to guide you as you work on your project. More information will come in the next few weeks to help you with videoing and uploading to Flipgrid. Have fun!
Congratulations to our February Boomerang Winners!
In February, CB Cares recognized students who displayed Caring, students who value service to their friends, school and community.
Congratulations to Grace Hogan, a 2nd grade student in Mrs. Klebba's class, and Violet DiCanto, a 2nd grade student in Mrs. Della Porta's class! We are so proud of you!
Share Your Memories
Whether your child is in-school or virtual, consider sharing your snow day and school memories for our 2020-2021 Yearbook! To access this Forms Survey, please follow the link and login through your child’s CBSD login.
Family Travel
If your child(ren) is traveling, complete a Request for Approved Absence Form. In compliance with the district's Health and Safety Plan, students who travel outside of Pennsylvania will not be able to return for a period of 10 days without testing, or after 7 days with a negative test on or after day 5.
Any questions about this procedure can be directed to Christine Stevens in the Gayman Office, at cstevens@cbsd.org.
Kindergarten Registration
We look forward to meeting our newest members of the Mustang family!
Gayman Students at Work and Play
Absences
Online Absences: If a student does not attend class, the student will be marked absent until we receive the communication from parents. Note: If a student logs-in initially, but leaves the call or does not engage, the comment "Virtually Cut" will be added to the comments section.
Feel free to reach out to Christine Stevens (cstevens@cbsd.org) with any questions.
Live Streaming
Live streaming is available for any student who is absent more than 2 days because the child tested positive for COVID-19, or the child is a close contact of someone who tested positive. Live streaming is also available for any student who traveled outside of Pennsylvania.
Once a teacher is notified, we will make arrangements including a materials pick-up at school. Live streaming will begin on day 3 of the absence, or earlier if feasible. Note: knowing that the majority of students in the class are in-person, there will be times when the teacher is not in camera view.
Questions about COVID-19?
Our school nurse, Mrs. Sara Hedges, is here to help! If you have questions, feel free to email or call her. She can help with:
- Determine if your child(ren) is a close contact.
- Explain the isolation and quarantine process.
- Provide guidance for symptoms and management.
- And more! .... just ask.
Mrs. Sara Hedges email address is shedges@cbsd.org, or call the Gayman main office at 267-893-4350 to be connected to the Health Room.
