Levin East School
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Kia ora koutou
It is wonderful to see our children and staff returning to school after isolation. Our school sounds and feels 'a bit more normal' - if there is such a thing.
Over the last week or so I have been out on Road Patrol more often and it warms my heart to see the love and care between parents/whānau and their children. The hugs, cuddles and loving words start the child's school day positively and helps them to be in a 'good space' to start their day. Thank you so much for having them in that space.
Today we say welcome to Jamie Thomas (pictured above). She will be running our Reading Recovery programme and it is wonderful to have her on board with us.
We look forward to our Senior Athletics next week but are disappointed that it is a closed event. Sadly, parents will not be able to come and watch.
We also look forward to farewelling Matua Ricky later on in the week - we had to postpone that last week. He has started work at Horowhenua District Council and they are very lucky to have him!
Please feel free to catch up with us via email, phone or text- they are the safest ways at present.
Kiā pai tō wiki. Have a great week.

Variety the children’s charity provides Kiwi Kids Sponsorship which matches a child living in financial hardship with a sponsor to provide funding each year for basic essentials, school related costs and extra-curricular activities. This is a great way to get a little extra help.
