SAVE THE DATE- Watch DOGS informational meeting at Stevenson Middle School

Calling all Dads Of Great Students (D.O.G.S.)! We are looking for more of our DOGS to join this group. Please save the date for Tuesday, October 4th at 6pm for a meeting at Stevenson to be treated to dinner with your child and to also plan for this school year.

We are excited about this program and the opportunity this brings for our fathers/father figures to get involved at their child's school.

Thank you to Mr. Neely and Mr. Bazzy for leading this important work. If you have questions about this, please email

Household Information Form

Wayne-Westland Community Schools will be participating in a new option available to schools as part of the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Program called the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for the school year 2022-2023

The GREAT NEWS is that ALL students enrolled at our school are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at school at NO CHARGE to your household each day of the 2022-2023 school year.

We are asking that you fill out and sign the Application for Household Information Report which is located on the Meal Magic Family Portal. This form is needed for administrative purposes, not to determine eligibility. This survey allows our school to benefit from various State and Federal supplemental programs like Title I A, At Risk (31s), Title II A, E -Rate, etc. This survey is critical in determining the amount of money the school receives from a variety of supplemental programs. We are asking that you please complete and submit it as soon as possible.

If we can be of any further assistance, please contact our Food Services Department at 734-419-2118.

Thank you to those of you who have already submitted this information.

8th Grade Washington DC Trip

We are excited to announce that we will be taking our 8th grade students to Gettysburg and Washington D.C. with Adams and Franklin Middle School.

We have three buses reserved. The trip will be first come, first served. Once we fill one bus, students will be waitlisted to ensure we can fill a second bus. The waitlisted student’s trip will be confirmed once bus two fills. The same process will be in place for bus three. If we can not fill bus two or three, those waitlisted will be refunded. This is why it is very important to reserve your spot as soon as possible. You can do that here.

Please be on the look-out for fundraising information to come home in the next few weeks. The more you fundraise, the less you will pay towards the cost of the trip.

7th Grade Immunizations

The State of Michigan requries children to be age-appropriately vaccinated to attend school, unless a valid waiver applies. Children entering 7th grade are required to have documentation of their vaccines. If your student is not fully immunized by October 21, 2022, per the State of Michigan, they may not be able to attend school.

How to Get Required Vaccines:

1- Physician offices- contact your doctor's office

2- Wayne County Health Dept Immunization Clinic 33330 Van Born Rd, Wayne, MI 48184, call 734-727-7100 for appointements

3- Beaumont Child & Adolescent Health Center at Adams Middle School

For vaccine waivers, contact the Wayne County Health Department for appointments at 734-727-7125.

Aspiring Educators Informational Meeting

Monday, Oct. 3rd, 3pm

Stevenson Library

All students that are interested in or have ever thought about a career in education (teacher, counselor, paraprofessional, coach, principal), this is the club to join! Mrs. Doman and Mrs. Obserski are leading this club for our students.

On Monday, October 3rd after school in the library, we will have an informational meeting to learn more about this opportunity this year, what it entails, and the plans for this year. We will have food provided for all students that show up to this meeting. We just ask that each child that is staying has arranged for a ride home at 4pm.

RSVPs are enabled for this event.

October Attendance Class Competition

October is around the corner and we have a fun way for our kids to earn amazing prizes while also working towards perfect attendance in our 1st hour classes.

We will have our hallways competing against each other, as well as an overall 1st hour class winner.

Good luck to all of our classes.

Parents, if you drop your children off, please remember that school starts at 7:50am. You can drop your child off as early as 7:20am to ensure that your child makes it to their 1st hour on time.

Each quarter we will be celebrating our students who continue to make great choices and following their RAPS at Stevenson. As long as your child is not issued any suspensions, they will qualify for this awesome party we are planning for them. Save the date- Friday, November 4th. Parents, if you would like to volunteer for this event- time, food, services, etc, please reach out to me directly. Thanks!
