Monday Morning Memo - Week 2
9/8/19 - Focus on Relationships & Routines
Dear Poupard Leaders,
Momentum
Last week was an outstanding start to the year. Our staff spent time getting to know students and establishing important routines that will support learning throughout this year. I enjoyed seeing classes engage in classroom meetings to facilitate this process as well. As you enter this week, continue teaching and modeling those critical expectations, set appropriate boundaries and relay non-negotiables to students. Things we allow in the early part of the year may quickly become the norm.
NWEA Testing
Please remember to schedule a time for your Fall NWEA tests. Homeroom teachers have the option to administer the tests inside their classrooms or the computer lab. Both schedules are available by clicking the tabs at the bottom of the screen. Please Karen or myself know if you have any questions in administering the test.
GES3
Our GES3 meeting dates and deadlines have been established by the team. You can access that information below. It will also be made available on our Poupard Schoology page.

Nuts and Bolts - Updated 9/3/19
Morning Walkthroughs
So I certainly failed at this goal last year but I'm going to continue keep trying...I plan on trying to visit every classroom once a day to simply say hello to students and teachers. I've placed it in my schedule this year so I'm hoping that'll help. I want to create the least amount of disruption to learning possible, so if I visit during instruction, please continue doing what you're doing.Walkie Talkie
All Classroom Teachers should have received a Walkie Talkie. Please take it with you when you take your students outside for an extra recess. The office staff will use it to locate individual students, typically for early dismissal.Class Newsletters
Please share your weekly newsletters with me by "Ccing" me when they are emailed out to families. This allows for me to stay connected with all of the exciting things happening inside of your classrooms.
Emergency Information
Please be sure to review all of the emergency information for fire drills and tornado drills inside of your classrooms. We will be doing a sweep to make sure your emergency bags are stocked with everything that necessary and include updated rosters as they become available.
Behavior Referrals
Behavior Referrals must be completed using the Online Behavior Form. Staff must complete the behavior form anytime a student is sent down to the office for a major office referral. Homeroom Teachers and Special Area Teachers are responsible for contacting the family to notify them of any incidents that occurred inside of the classroom. Please call home over an email whenever possible. Personally, I'd recommend sharing anything over 3-4 sentences over a phone call as well.
