Las Positas Updates

8/11/21 Volume 1 (2)

Big picture

Happy Friday, Las Positas Lions~

I hope you enjoy the last weekend before starting an exciting school year.

We are proud to say that our community is recognizing our wonderful work at Las Positas and currently our enrollment is full for TK - 4th. We are taking waitlists at this point. We still have a few spots left in the 5th grade.

At Las Positas, an IB PYP World School, we celebrate and highlight an IB learner profile each month. For the month of August, we will be celebrating the learner profile "principled."

Principled: "We act with integrity and honesty, with a strong sense of fairness and justice, and with respect for the dignity and rights of people everywhere. We take responsibility for our actions and their consequences."

Please, recognize your child when you find them doing this by saying, "Great work being principled, you":

  • "showed integrity when..."
  • "diligently carried out tasks when..."
  • "followed directions through to the end when..."
  • "were dependable and conscientious with the expectation of..."
  • "actively sought responsibilities when..."

As the school year starts and your children are getting ready to return to campus, here are some updates regarding safety protocols. These are true as of today, and may change.

  • Masks will be required to be worn by all students when indoors at school, on school buses, or on field trips (unless part of a limited group with exemption based on disability or medical condition).

  • All adults (vaccinated or not) must wear masks when indoors or on buses with students.

  • Student temperature checks, social distancing (both indoors and outdoors) and student shields on desks will discontinue.

  • Nonessential visitors, volunteers, and activities involving external groups or organizations with people who are not fully vaccinated will be limited.

The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) has provided the following guidance for K-12 schools link. You can also view FAQs from CDPH on their website at FAQs.

We will continue to update you as information evolves and becomes available to us.
