Attendance
Why is being in school every day important?
IT IMPACTS YOUR GRADES
Even if you miss just a few days here and there, your grades are likely to suffer.
IT AFFECTS HOW YOU LEARN
When you are in class you learn the material along with your classmates. When you’re not in class, you need to learn the material on your own, which is stressful, time-consuming, and a much less effective way to learn.
GRADUATION IS AT RISK
Chronic absenteeism is the leading indicator that a student will drop out of high school and not graduate.
YOUR FUTURE DEPENDS ON IT
When you’re in school every day, you get a better education, which means you’ll have more career options and a much brighter future!
MISSING TOO MUCH SCHOOL?
-Have a good night time routine that includes getting everything ready for the next day.
-Go to bed early enough to ensure you get enough sleep-and don’t risk oversleeping in the morning.
-Have a plan in place if you miss the bus or your ride to school.
-Form a support network at the school, including friends, teachers, and other staff.
-Know and understand your school’s attendance policy, and know that to do if you must miss school.
* Please understand that as a Parent/Guardian, you are responsible for notifying the school secretary to excuse your child. If the call is not completed by the end of the day your child will be marked as unexcused.
If you have attendance problems because you don’t have transportation to school, there are problems at home, you’re being bullied, or there’s another problem, talk to your school counselor. Your counselor can help you with most any issues that are preventing you from regularly attending school.

Essay Registration Window Jan. 17 - Feb. 15, 2022
When taking the Colorado school day SAT this spring, 11th grade students will have the option of taking the SAT with or without the optional essay. Adding the essay to their SAT registration is a student choice. Schools or districts should not make policy decisions regarding which students will or will not take the SAT essay.
The default registration for all students is the SAT without essay. Students who wish to take the optional essay must register for it in advance; bulk registration for the SAT essay is not available.
Schools and districts should make students and parents aware of the essay registration window.
The essay registration window is Jan. 17 – Feb. 15, 2022.This will be the only opportunity for students who wish to take the optional essay to add it to their April school day test registration. Students may add the essay to their registration through their online College Board account or by calling the College Board. Schools will not receive extra essay materials for test day changes, therefore please be sure students register during the window.
Additional Information:
o The SAT Essay is scored separately from the SAT. A student’s score on the essay will not improve or reduce their score on the SAT.
Students taking the SAT with essay must be tested in a separate room from students taking the SAT without essay. The SAT with essay will take approximately one hour longer than the SAT without essayCOVID- UPDATES

CDC has released new guidance on quarantine and isolation.
Isolate if you test positive for COVID-19 or if you have been exposed to someone who is positive to COVID-19 and develop symptoms. This applies to everyone- regardless of vaccination status.
Quarantine if you were exposed to someone with COVID-19 or are named a “close contact”
If you are FULLY vaccinated (including boosters if it has been 5 months since your 2nd Moderna or Pfizer vaccine or 2 months since your J&J vaccine) you do not have to quarantine but you must wear a mask for 10 days and get tested on day 5.
If you are not fully vaccinated (including boosters if eligible) you should stay home for 5 days and monitor for symptoms. If symptoms develop- get tested. After the 5 days of quarantine you should wear a mask around others for 5 days. Testing on or after day 5 is recommended.
