OPIOIDS FACT SHEET
More than ever it is important to talk to your teens about the dangers of opioid drug use. Opioid overdose deaths in the U.S. are on the rise. In 2020 deaths increased to 68,630 (from 21,088 in 2010).

ACADEMICS
Math and Computer Science Fair
The following students participated in Shippensburg University's Math and Computer Science Fair on Tuesday, March 29th.
The Julia Robinson Mathematics Festival was attended by Michael Cogliano, Austin Woltz, Lexi Hartman, Claire Roberts, Landon Anglin, Sam Gano, Dayton Biesecker, and Blake Biesecker.
Seth Lady, Aidan Kissner, Abi Orner, and Gabby Pirich competed in the Individual Math Competition.
Alexis Calderon, Alex Cook, and Luke Meyer competed in the Computer Programming Competition.
All students attended a Keynote presentation by Dr. Doug Ensley on Mathematical tricks and conjectures.

- Yadira Garcia and Dylanie Castillo gave so much of their time and energy to making tamales. They did prep the night before and stayed for the entire next day. They made tamales with so much joy and love. They are amazing human beings!
- Special shout out to Tyler Wolf who goes above and beyond to come down every Advisory and make sure the Easter Bunnies are cared for.
- To all members of the mini-THON committee for a successful and fun event. Special shout outs to... *Morgan Unger for being the Student Chairperson and overseeing all committees *Gabi Corson for designing and obtaining the mini-THON t-shirts *Jackie Miller for counting all of the proceeds and setting up Stall Day *Sandra Montoya Landaverde for overseeing the food committee *Paige Ney, Dana Newberry, Alyssa Smith, and Jacob Mead for setting up and overseeing the athletic tournaments *McKenzie Shupe for supervising the entertainment committee *Emma McMaster and Gabi Corson for supervising chaperone procurement * Kyle Flook for coming early and helping to set up equipment and facilities. *Eduardo Aguilar for helping to clean up *the amazing chaperones: Mr. Baust, Mr. Shafer, Mr. Smyers, Mr. Berger, Mr. Ramsey, Mrs. Staub, Mrs. Showers, Miss Showers, Mr. Heyser, Mrs. Hurda, Mrs. Miller, Mrs. Graham, Mr. Becker, Mr. McClean, Mr. Hebert, and Ms. Bream (and fiance - he's a keeper!) *An extra special shout out to Mr. McClean, Mr. Smyers, Mrs. Staub and Mrs. Hurda who stayed all night!
- Special shout out to all of Michele Miller's students who planned and worked for two weeks to make sure the Pig Roast was a seamless successful experience for our guests! Now, it is back to the books!
- A shoutout to Allison Sneed and the entire yearbook staff for all of their hard work in meeting the yearbook deadline! Way to go!
- Bearsun Zullinger and Cole Carlson for raking the pit for the jumpers at practice and at the track meet.
- Mrs. Dani Horner for the many, many things that she does behind the scenes for our students and staff. You are appreciated!!
