Ann had a difficult early years at their family cattle farm in Queensland, Australia so at the age of 17 she dropped out of school and ran away from home.
Why she got into photography
At age 25, she taught herself photography using her husband's 35 mm Pentax K1000 camera, she specialized in baby photography because of her love for babies

What made her famous
Geddes created her own philanthropic program named "Geddes Philanthropic Trust". Its primary focus was to raise awareness of child abuse and neglect. Her philanthropic program raised many opportunities for not only her community, but also for her business In 2013, she created a series for the survivors of Meningococcal Disease. The photographs depict families and children that have been affected by the disease and honours those who have survived. She shot photographs of 15 child survivors of meningitis for the Protecting Our Tomorrows: Portraits of Meningococcal Disease campaign
Awards
Anne was awarded a lifetime membership in the professional photographers of American Association in 1997, Anne received an Honorary Fellowship with the New Zeeland institute of Professional Photographers in recognition of her unique style of photography and her success. Anne was the first woman to earn a Fellowship from the Institute through its awards system. in 2002 Anne received the Childhelp USA Humanitarian Award.
How Anne feels about work
Geddes believes that "emotional content is an image's most important element" and that people are drawn to her work because of its simplicity and personality. She prefers black-and-white to colour photography as she feels that colour distracts from the image and the natural beauty of life

What I appreciate
I appreciate the amazing photos of babies, they are so professional and they capture how the baby feels and I know that trying to get the perfect shot of a baby is very hard to do but she manages it and all of her pictures turn out awesome
