Now that we are in the coldest months of the year, it’s important to be mindful about the
foods in season that can help our bodies stay healthy and happy. Eating seasonal foods
has health benefits because our bodies experience different needs throughout the year.
During colder months, our immune system needs strengthening which can be helped by
adding more vitamins and antioxidants found in vegetables and fruit. Some December
seasonal produce in Southern California include arugula, beets, kale, and oranges.
Consider pairing a citrus-glazed salmon with a warm kale beet salad this winter which
includes good sources of Vitamin D, Vitamin C, calcium and antioxidants.
Wishing you and your family a healthy and happy holiday season!
