Wood County Youth Olympics
This morning at 7am Wood County Youth Olympics Registration opened. This is a great event that focuses on competition without conflict. Go to www.woodcountyprosecutor.org and scroll to the bottom of the webpage to see Register for Youth Olympics. The event is open to all 4th & 5th grade students in Wood County. The first 550 students that register will receive a spot. A form with detailed directions on how to register went home with all Otsego 4th & 5th graders Wednesday!
Check out our new look
www.otsegoknights.org will look a little different today. We're pleased to unveil our new look, with a sleeker design and easier to find information. The new Otsego Local Schools site will more effectively highlight what is important to us and the community. The new website layout uses responsive design, meaning that it will adjust for tablets and mobile devices. We will still be working on the finishing touches to our new site, so check back regularly for content updates.
We will keep the building sites and district sites updated with pictures, news articles, and other important information regarding the Otsego Local School District.
If you have any questions, please do hesitate to contact us.
Community Forums
Members of the Otsego Team will once again be conducting community forums this spring. Otsego parents, staff, and community are invited to attend one of the informational sessions below. We need to hear from parents and community members on the things we are doing right and what needs improvement. We will update the community on key initiatives that we have implemented this year and look ahead to the next school year. We will also provide a financial overview of the past several years and will discuss the financial forecast. You will have the opportunity to ask the team questions and make suggestions on how we can strengthen the Otsego Local School District. “Our Students, Our Community, Our Success”

Counselor's Corner
Mini-Meetings
This month and into February I will be visiting every classroom to meet with each student for about a minute. The purpose of these mini-meetings is (1) for me to be able to meet with every student and build rapport, (2) to check in with each student and see how their school year is going, (3) to catch any students who may need help but are afraid or won't ask for help and (4) to gather data for the school counseling program.
There are no school-wide programs for the counseling program this month.
For more information on school-wide programs & the Elementary Counseling program, visit Miss Mikesina's Website at http://oesknightscounselor.weebly.com/

REMINDERS
SAVE ALUMINUM CAN TABS
Please help our students by collecting tabs from aluminum cans. Each tab is easy to remove and can be donated to the Ronald McDonald House. The tabs help fund various projects for Ronald McDonald Houses and its visitors. Send the tabs in a bag to the school and our students will do the rest!
SAVE BOX TOPS AND CAMPBELLS SOUP LABELS
You can help the school earn money for supplies by collecting Box Tops and Campbells labels from soup, juices and snacks. Our PTO collects and counts them and puts the money straight back into the school.
