The Smore is Back!
I just wanted to say thank you for your patience as we have been trying to manage this very unusual time in our history. The quarantine alone has been a challenge but then add parents working from home, family members ill, and school being moved suddenly to a remote learning setting and you end up having a situation that can be very frustrating and confusing for everyone. The teachers are continuing to create opportunities for their students as well as trying to maintain the relationships they have created with their students this year. I can honestly say that we miss them very much!
Remote learning has definitely been a challenge for us all across the country. Our teacher have worked hard to meet the expectations that were established by our district administration which was developed with equity in mind. Three weeks in and we finally feel confident that all students' needs are being addressed or hopefully will be this week. If we are missing something, please reach out to us and let us know. Technology has blessed us with the opportunity to continue with connections and learning but it is a curse for those without. We are striving to meet the needs of all students.
Thanks again for your support as we all navigate through this uncertain time and through a remote learning platform that is new to all of us. We are better together and as our world goes through these challenges, I am glad that our Falcon Family has each other to lean on!
Please take care and stay safe.

Falcon of the Month of March - Sadie Shepherd
Sadie Shepherd is our Falcon of the Month for April. Sadie was nominated by Robyn King for being respectful and responsible in the classroom. Sadie would go out of her way to always help Mrs. King. She always worked hard in class and produced quality work. Thank you, Sadie, for living in our pillars and modeling what it takes to be that respectful and responsible Clinton-Massie Falcon!
Staff Member of the Month of April - Janie Luck
Janie Luck is our Staff Member of the Month for April. Before the quarantine, Janie was helping students catch up on work that they had missed during illness. The sixth-grade team said she provided students opportunities to do the makeup work during study hall. She works very well with the teachers and students so that the students could make up their work without missing any more class time. She is organized and very helpful! Thank you, Janie, for doing what is best for our students! Your efforts have not gone unnoticed!
Staff Member of the Month
Parents and students, please nominate a staff member for Staff Member of the Month for April! Our teachers have gone from being a classroom teacher to remote learning teacher in a matter of a few days. I am proud of the way they have continued to put their students first in such a challenging time as they juggle the difficult task of this quarantine, illness, families at home, extended families in need, working from home, and helping their own children manage remote learning. If you have a special place in your heart for one of these people, please nominate someone today.

Needs:
- I would love to develop a Middle School PTO if anyone is interested in helping me get that started. Please contact me.
- Do you have old technology you would like to get rid of? We have students that would like to take it apart! Seriously, if you have old tech that students can tear apart and explore, we are in the market. Please send it in and have the students take it to Mrs. Ford's room.
- We also are trying to collect $5-$10 gift cards for student incentives. Please send these to Jill Wilkinson in the middle school main office.
- I am looking for some ideas for the Staff Member of the Month initiative.
- We need consumables like markers, glitter, glue, poster board, paper for our Cricut Machines, vinyl for the Cricut Machines, fabric for sewing, thread, buttons, etc. I could go on and on. Mrs. Ford would probably take anything you offered.
Thank you all for being so supportive. We appreciate your desire to be a part of the middle school experience. We need you!
