The Future of Us

Summary
It is 1996 and Emma Nelson has gotten a new computer. When her best friend Josh brings a her CD-ROM with 100 hours they discover their Facebook pages 15 years from now. Josh and Emma's futures are at their fingertips and changing with every click or action they make. "Just like that, the future is changed forever. Fifteen years of history- future history- is changed because Emma didn't like the guy she married" (132). Emma and Josh must decide if they should purposely change the future or accept both the good and bad in it.

Conflicts
Person vs. Person Emma and Josh have many conflicts throughout the book regarding their futures. Emma is unhappy with her future life, while Josh has it all. When Emma tries to purposely change her future, Josh is angry because he is scared it will change his future.
Person vs. Self Emma often has conflicts with herself weather she should tell people their futures. When she learns shocking news about her best friend, Kellen, Emma must decide to either warn Kellen and risk changing the future in major ways or let the future play out.
