BVSW Families,
The end of the first semester is nearly here. Our students have had a great first semester of learning and we continue to see the positive impacts of our learning management system, Canvas, in our classrooms. As we gear up for the end of the semester, please take note of the important information below regarding grades and courses in Canvas.
End of Semester Information
At the end of the day on Thursday, January 14th, courses in Canvas will conclude and will no longer be visible on the Canvas Parent app. A concluded course is only visible through the Canvas Website. To view first semester courses and grades after January 14th, open Canvas in a web browser, log in, and click on the Courses tab. Click View All Courses and scroll down to find the past enrollments. Access Past Enrollment guide (Video tutorial)
Final exam scores and other individual assignment grades can be viewed in Canvas. Semester grades reports will be published in ParentVUE in January.
Need some help?
Blue Valley has a variety of resources available for parent support on the district’s Canvas web page, www.bluevalleyk12.org/canvas.
Thank you and take care,
BVSW Administration

Blue Valley Career-Ready Programs
Career-Ready Construction Management Program
With more than 200+ job openings in the metro area and opportunities to earn an associates degree and industry certifications, Blue Valley is proud to offer high school students the opportunity to pursue the Construction Management program in partnership with Johnson County Community College (JCCC). Students in the Construction Management program spend half of their day at their high school and half of their day at JCCC working toward a Construction Management Certificate with additional opportunities for students to continue coursework at JCCC to earn their AAS in Construction Management Technology and to transfer that credit to four-year colleges to ultimately earn a BS. Students can earn a Construction Management Certificate while in high school and will receive dual credit at no cost to the student.
If you are interested in Construction Management or other Career-Ready opportunities, let your counselor know. If you have questions, please contact Sarah Beren at sberen@bluevalleyk12.org or 239-4141 or visit the district website.

Critical College Board Account Info
Review the demographic information on your College Board ASAP! College Board will use this information for the exam labels.
If the demographic information is incorrect, it can result in the exam not being scored/valid. Students must use their legal names on their account.
Frequent errors:
Registering as Tony, if your legal name is Anthony
Parents accidentally listing their name as the student taking the exam
JohnJacobJingleheimerSchmidt (gotta use that space bar)
1234 Main Street (you know you live on Main Terr, friend)
Students must call College Board ASAP to correct demographic information. This is the only way.
Keep up to date with what is happening at BVSW!
