A Note from Mr. Moeckel

Community is such an important aspect to our daily interactions here are Concord. While the ingrident list of a healthy community can be a bit lenghtly, the key ingredient will always be the people. Last week, we launched our "Fly Together" photo wall. So many people, both staff and students, took some time to enjoy the memories captured on the 4x6 photos.

The images reminded me how much can happen in the course of a school year. We grow, we learn, we smile, we change...in all the matter of a few months. Seeing the images conjured up some real happiness. One staff member shared that seeing all the faces warmed her heart.

Concord is a great place and continues to grow stronger. Our students our lucky to be in a school community where the adults care like you all do.

Thanks for partnering with us!

Counselor Corner : Week of Jan 23-Feb 3

Hello Concord Flyer Grownups! Over the next few weeks your student will be learning about the importance of making healthy choices. We will cover topics of personal safety, basic hygiene, and how to navigate peer pressure. For our 4th and 5th graders, we will use age appropraite lessons to teach about the harmful effects of alcohol and tobacco products. We hope our students will become strong advocates for their own health and wellness! Over the next few weeks, ask your student how they plan to keep their body and minds healthy!

Summer Camps and Activities Fair

What are your plans this summer? Join us for this free event to plan your child's summer activities with area exhibitors! The PEGS and LEAP parent group are sponsoring the 2023 Summer Camps and Activities Fair from 5-7 p.m., on Wednesday, Feb. 15, in the Lindbergh High School cafeteria. Attendees can enter to win $50 for Lindbergh camps. Open to all St. Louis-area families. For additional information, please contact Teresa Wallace, PEGS Treasurer, at pegsparentgroup@gmail.com.

2023-24 New Student Registration Opens on Feb. 6

Lindbergh Schools will open 2023-24 school year registration for new students on Monday, Feb. 6. This includes incoming kindergarten students and students in other grade levels who are transferring from another district. We encourage Concord families to enroll the week Feb 6- Feb 10. (You can enroll outside of this window)

It is very important that new families do not begin the registration process before Feb. 6, because the district is moving to a new student information system and will not be using the current SIS Portal for new families.

Please look for additional details coming soon, or visit https://go.lindberghschools.ws/register.

Student IEP Information Night Jan. 31

The Lindbergh Parent Advisory Council (LPAC) is presenting a series of informational nights to support families of students with an Individual Education Plan. You are invited to attend the second meeting in this series, from 6-7 p.m., Jan. 31, at Lindbergh Central Office, to learn about the Assistive Technology consultation process and to participate in demonstrations of universal tools available to all students who have an IEP. Examples will be provided for low- and high-tech Assistive Technology options that can be used in both the home and school environments.

Winter Weather Update for Families

As colder weather approaches, now is a good time to remind families and staff how we prepare for potential school closures that can result from snow, ice, or other severe weather events.

In the event of inclement weather, we will decide to close school based on a number of factors, including student safety, bus transportation, road conditions and wind chill temperature. When possible, the decision to close school is made by 10 p.m. the night before. However, if the decision cannot be made by 10 p.m., then a decision will be made between 5 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. the next morning.

If the decision is made to cancel school, all families and staff will receive a phone call, text message and email notification.
