Hispanic Museum of Nevada: Diversity of Latinos in the U.S. and Examples of their Artistry
GRADE LEVEL: 6th – 12th
DESCRIPTION The Hispanic Museum of Nevada is the home to cultural groups that represent many of the Spanish speaking countries in the Casa de la Cultura Latina portion of the museum. Our talk will focus on the diversity of Latinos in Nevada and the United States. We will discuss the origins and fun facts about many artifacts indicative of Latino culture. * An example is a collection of Panamanian Molas. The handmade Molas are colorful, multi-layered appliqué panels of blouses worn by the Kuna women of Panama.
