After completing module 5 you will need to take the quiz and print out the certificate showing completion of all modules and bring to pick up your materials or receive training. The cookie volunteer will enter their email and request a password. Once they received their password they can take the training modules. Michele Platt (second from left), our National Council Delegate representing GSWCF at the National Council Session in Salt Lake City in October 2014, standing with GSUSA staff, fellow delegates and former National President Connie Lindsey, and CEO Anna Maria Chavez in the Hall of Experiences.
The purpose of the National Council Session is to give direction to the future of the GS movement. This session meets every three years and links the GS Councils and National Organization. All Area Associations had input to the voting decisions by our council delegates.
Emma Platt, our GSWCF council representative to the GSLI, outside the convention center with other GSLI girls, GSWCF chaperones and Lenore Costello (aka Gundy).
Emma participated in leadership skill-building activities with other girls from around the globe. The GSLI theme this year was "Girls changing the world" with several focus areas: teen violence, healthy relationships, basic needs (hunger, homelessness, natural disaster relief, poverty), inclusion/diversity, self image/body image, education, status of women. With the help from experts, girls created an action plan and returned home to make a lasting impact on local community.

Nine Reasons to become a Girl Scout
Adult Awards Recognizing Outstanding Volunteer Leadership in Girl Scouting
Giving and receiving recognition is an important component of the Volunteer Development System in Girl Scouting. This is an ongoing, everyday process for any of us to take part in at any time. Showing appreciation for one another is a good way to show respect, to relate to each others strengths, and to develop mutual commitment.
While we encourage on-going, year-round volunteer recognition, now is the time to prepare submissions for adult awards to be given at the Annual meeting in the spring. Nomination forms and criteria are included on the GSWCF web site, click here.
The deadline to submit nominations is Jan. 31. Take the time to honor the efforts of outstanding volunteers who work tirelessly to advance the Girl Scout movement. We need your involvement to sing their praise.
