Selby Week Ahead
Oct. 7 - 11
News and Notes
Thank you for an amazing Open House! I appreciate the extra time staff have spent getting rooms ready to showcase the amazing work our students are doing. The halls also show great evidence of student thinking and learning.
Thank you for being so welcoming to our teacher candidates and our math coach, Alana Overvelde, who will be with us on Fridays for the next little while.
This week may bring some changes, which will bring lots of questions. I will do my best to share info and help problem-solve with you as best as we can. Thank you for staying positive and supporting each other.
Anxious Children
If we take a look at our IEPs and some clinical reports, many of our students feel some type of anxiety, at times. Lynn Lyons shares some ideas about how to help children 'talk to their worries.' Many of these strategies will also work for kids (and adults) who don't have anxiety but just need to build up their tool-kits to self-regulate and manage their emotions.
