Science / Social Studies

We will begin the new year spending some time reviewing our school wide expectations and discussing 8 Life Principles:
1. We will value each other as unique and special individuals.
2. We will not laugh at or make fun of a person's mistakes nor use sarcasm or putdowns.
3. We will use good manners, saying "please," "thank you," and "excuse me" and allow others to go first.
4. We will cheer each other to success.
5. We will help one another when possible.
6. We will recognize every effort and applaud it.
7. We will encourage each other to do our best.
8. We will practice virtuous living, using the Life Principles.

We will also discuss seasonal changes in the weather and their affect on living things. We will be making a special snowman project with paint for our hallway bulletin board.

I hope everyone had a great winter break! Many thanks to our A-MAZING room moms: Mrs. Blancett, Mrs. Kim and Mrs. Whalen for organizing our class party before the break. The children had such a fun time, especially with the snowman creation contest! Adorable! Hopefully nobody went home and tried that with the toilet paper! We appreciate all the generous families that sent in items for the party.

Our first Rise and Shine Assembly of the new year will be on Friday, January 10. These begin first thing in the morning, so be sure you are on time!
