Student Stars for the Month of October

Success Tip of October: Use Old Quizzes to Study!

Every Friday we take a quiz. Once all the quizzes are graded, they are passed back to the students to keep. I have even whole punched them to put in their binders. There should be a section in the student's binder where they can keep their old quizzes. Many of the questions on Unit tests come from quiz questions (shhh! I don't tell them that) so if they study their old quizzes, the chances of them being successful on tests increases greatly!

What are we learning in History right now?

We have entered Unit 2 of American History. In this unit we are exploring the 13 colonies. We are doing some mapping, learning about the environments of each, and how the environments grew into 3 cultural regions. We will also be studying the role that slavery played in these colonies. The Unit 2 exam is currently slated for November 18th; however, this may change. All students will be notified if a change occurs. If you need materials to help your child study, please contact me.
