Fun Run 2018
Believe it or not, our Fun Run is only about a week away! Hopefully your children have been
securing donations and pledges, and getting excited for the big event. We thank you in advance for helping us reach our $20,000 goal. The Fun Run’s success hinges not only on pledges and laps, but also on volunteers -- it takes a village to keep all those runners on course! Please consider supporting Montclair by signing up for a volunteer shift. We especially need volunteers for the morning session! Also, we’d love to see you out there running with, or cheering on your child during the Fun Run. After all, it’s a big accomplishment to run all those laps and secure all those pledges! It’s a great opportunity to really feel the Montclair Redtail Hawk pride and spirit as the kids report how many laps they ran!
2018 Fun Run Prizes:
• The two students in each grade who have the most laps will be entered into a drawing, with a chance to win one of three prizes: A Hydroflask (there are 2 to win) or a Fitbit Ace!
• The top earning student from each grade will get to silly string Mr. McKay at an assembly!
• The two classes with the most total laps will get a pizza/ice cream party for their class!
Fun Run Schedule:

Welcome Back Montclair Families New & Returning!
It has been a great start to the year so far at Montclair, we are working on remembering how to be safe, respectful & responsible throughout our days at school. Ask your students how they were safe at Montclair today!
As we start to get in the groove of returning to school, I wanted to share this great article from Edutopia with a variety of resources. Read it here.
This month in counseling we will be learning and reminded of how the school counselor can help you at school:
* K/1st: Intro to School Counseling with Mr. Potato Head & the book, Mrs. Joyce Gives the Best High-Fives
* 2nd: Intro to School Counseling with the book, Mrs. Joyce Gives the Best High-Fives
*3rd-5th: Intro to School Counseling Buzzer Game
I am excited to work with both you & your students this year, please reach out if there is ever anything I can help with.
Here’s to a new school year!
