Every Student Counts, Every Moment Matters!
Message From Principal Webb
Hello families!
The count down is on! We are down to our final week of school, can you believe it?
KEY (BASP) program will have their end of year family picnic on Wednesday evening. We have the 6th-grade celebration on Thursday evening and our final assembly on Friday morning with Kindergarten graduation following at 9:45. Don't forget school gets out early on Friday.
6th-grade parents- Longfellow will have a "clap-out" for our 6th-grade students at 10:45ish (right before dismissal). This is when the K-5 students and staff will line the hallways to celebrate and "clap-out" our 6th-grade students to junior high! Parents are welcome to join! We hope it is a fun new tradition. Student progress reports will come home with students on the last day of school.
PTA will be selling spirit gear this week on Wednesday- stop by and grab some! Also, a BIG reminder to turn in library books!
As always, thank you for your support and partnership!
Sincerely,
Kelli Webb

LIBRARY NEWS
All books were due back Friday, May 24th. If you receive an automated email on Monday that means your Longhorn has a book overdue. I have also mailed bills for the books marked lost. I only marked books lost that were due in April or earlier. Please help us get all the Longfellow books back in before school lets out or contact the library about replacement cost. We never charge any family more than they can afford.
Please visit the ICCSD Libraries' Summer Reading page at https://www.smore.com/a8qfh-summer-reading-2019 for lots of reading info! We encourage all students to sign up far a Summer Reading Program in Iowa City, Coralville, or wherever you may be! Every public library should have some type of summer reading stuff going on. Parents can sign up too for adult programs. Happy reading!

- Attendance Zones
The Iowa City Community School District Board of Directors approved new elementary attendance areas for the 2019-20 school year. The new boundaries were approved during their November 27 board meeting. The updated maps can be found on the District website at the following link: www.IowaCitySchools.org/DistrictMaps. In addition, the District’s Attendance Area Look-Up links have been updated to reflect the approved boundary changes. The Attendance Area Look-Up links provide school information specific for your home address. The links can be found on the District website at the following link: www.IowaCitySchools.org/AttendanceAreaLookUp. Junior high and high school students may also be impacted by these changes. Please be sure to check the Attendance Area Look-Up link above to determine if changes to the elementary boundaries have affected your student.
