In addition to Guidance Seminars students may request an appointment to see their Guidance Counselor at anytime. They may visit the Guidance Office to make an appointment or complete the Guidance Appointment Request Form.

GUIDANCE GOOGLE CLASSROOM & REMIND.COM
The Guidance Counselors will post important information on the Guidance Google Classroom for each grade level. Students should join their grade level class. In addition, they should keep alerts on, share the information with parents/guardians, and check the site regularly.
REMIND.COM
The guidance counselors also use remind.com which is a web-based program that allows students and parents to sign up to receive text messages. Important reminders and information is sent out to students.

The college fair is a great opportunity to meet the admission counselor that will be reviewing their application! Students are encouraged to come prepared and ask questions!

FINANCIAL AID NIGHT
Please join the PHS Guidance Department as we host the Financial Aid Webinar on Thursday, October 14th at 6:30 PM.
The webinar will cover the financial aid application process, including a discussion of the FAFSA and CSS Profile applications and tips to successfully guide you through the entire process. Our presenter, Jodi Conway will show you how to create a timeline to meet your college's financial aid deadlines and discuss student loan debt, the different types of aid you might see on your award letters, merit aid, and how/when to appeal an award. Jodi Conway has worked in the financial aid profession for over 36 years, both in college financial aid offices and with her business, Conway College Aid. It is her mission to share this information with families to educate them about the complicated financial aid process.

Financial Aid by College Funding Services

Financial aid experts provide an overview of financial aid, how one can qualify for financial aid and how to maximize eligibility, what one needs to do if you don’t qualify for aid and how to present assets to colleges. In addition, financial aid experts will provide a current update on the impact of COVID-10 on the college landscape and provide FAFSA and CSS Profile tips and timeline. FINANCIAL AID INFORMATION / CLASS OF 2022
FAFSA:
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid is a form completed by current and prospective college students to determine their eligibility for student financial aid. Completing this form can qualify students for federal grants, loans & work study programs. To get started visit: https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa
Students and parents should each register for an FSA ID - The ID is made up of a username and password and can be used to log into the online Free Application for Federal Student Aid form.
The FAFSA is available to file on October 1st.
THE CSS PROFILE
The CSS Profile, short for the College Scholarship Service Profile, is an online application created and maintained by the College Board that allows college students to apply for non-federal financial aid. Not all colleges require the CSS Profile. To see if your college requires this form visit: https://profile.collegeboard.org/profile/ppi/participatingInstitutions.aspx
