Mock Interviews this Week
Community this Week
Much of the staff feedback around mental health included breaks in community and continuing our mental health focus. We will do a little of both this week. After the Wildcat News, we will share a Westview Pocket Directory of Resources with every student (these will be delivered to your mailboxes by the end-of-day Tuesday.) Following that quick activity, students will be invited to begin planning and working on a community door decorating contest. We hope this provides an opportunity for students take a break and enjoy working on something fun together or use the time as they individually need.

Safety Tips
■ Turn off and unplug small appliances such as toasters and coffee pots.
■ Take home your valuable personal property.
■ Lock away electronics and technologies whenever possible (important: phones and computers cannot be unplugged or disconnected).
Finally, close all blinds, turn off the lights, lock your door, and enjoy the break! National Handwashing Awareness Week December 2‐ 8 Handwashing is the most effective way to remove and prevent the spread of germs and to avoid getting sick. The CDC recommends washing hands with soap and water whenever possible; however, an alcohol‐based hand sanitizer can be used when soap and water are unavailable.
Hand sanitizers should:
■ be at least 60% alcohol,
■ be fragrance‐free and dye-free,
■ be used with adult supervision, and
■ extra bottles should be stored in a secure location.
More information can be found on CDC’s, “Show me the Science” website.

Spoken Word Events Coming Up
Please share with your students: The Moth is hosting its annual Main Stage event (all ages!) the next week on Tuesday, December 10 at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall. A bit pricier but a fun event, in my opinion. Both events can be seen here.
For the adults: 7 Deadly Sins is a Moth spin-off, and produces some pretty amazing local events. Our own Pat McCreery will be telling a story at #1 and coaching at #2, so feel free to come check them out:
