PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Kia ora Families
We had such a wonderful evening last night celebrating Matariki!
There were many lovely activities for children and whanau to take part in, including planting, creating stars, waiata, games and a wishing tree.
As part of the celebration, our new native garden, Te Ara Taiao (the pathway to nature), was opened by HB regional councillor Hinewai Ormsby.
A brief history of the new path's conception - at the start of the year Mr Race issued children a wero (challenge) to think up an idea that could make our school and even nicer place to be than it already was.
The winning entry was created by Willow, Eliza, Toby, Leith, Cyrus and Ashton. The winning idea was a native path for our school grounds. Congratulations children and thanks for your fabulous idea!
Today's newsletter is full of photos from our celebration.
Have a wonderful Matariki weekend Whanau!
Nga mihi,
Steve
