You matter!

Hearne Equity Audit at Hearne on Monday beginning at 8AM!
Yes! Yes! Yes! Hearne has been selected to host an Equity Audit on Monday, September 23rd. This audit is aligned to Alief ISD’s District Priority III: Ensuring all district policies and actions are taken through the lens of and based on the principles of equity.
“Educational Equity means that educational practices, policies, facilities, academic support, curriculum, instruction, school resources, school climate and culture, expectations, etc…are such that ALL students have:
· An equitable opportunity
· Fairness
· And access to reach academic excellence”
“Equity is the process…Equality is the outcome!” –Millennium Learning Concepts
The details:
· An outside team of assessors will visit our campus to conduct interviews, classroom observations, and review campus data. They will be located in both conference rooms and the science lab for their visit.
· The purpose of their work with us is to make recommendations about how we can best ensure equity at Hearne and in Alief ISD for all students.
· Interviews will be conducted with team leaders throughout the morning. A schedule will be shared.
· Classroom observations will take place in all grade levels. If we will be “officially” visiting your class, you will receive a separate email from me.
We are looking forward to opening our doors to share how we are ensuring our vision and mission statement are reality for ALL students at Hearne Elementary School!
