Thanks so much!

We were lucky enough to learn about animals for an entire week during the Big Zoo Lesson! During our time there with the zookeepers, docents, our family members, teachers, and animals, we learned about special animal adaptations, our environment, animal enrichments at the zoo, the Species Survival Plan, and many more things we would not have been able to experience if we weren't at Potter Park. So thank you for your support! Without it, we wouldn't have had such a rich learning experience. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Did you know...

  • Bats aren't really blind, their wings are like hands, and they are nocturnal.
  • Tigers are excellent swimmers, they can have up to 5 cubs, and their stripes are unique to each animal like our fingerprints.
  • Lions sleep 16-22 hours per day, they spray the perimeter of their territory to keep other animals away, and their roar can be heard up to 5 miles away.
  • River otters have 2 layers of fur, they can hold their breath under water for 5 minutes, and they can eat turtles. We still don't know exactly what they do with the shells though!
  • Mandrills' canine teeth can grow up to 2 inches long, the leader of the group has an extra colorful bottom, and they are pretty interesting watch for a week!
Big Zoo Thank You!
