#WE Rise
Links to Learning for Week of December 7 - 11
Hello Wilkesboro Families!
Here are some updates for the week of December 7 - 11. We want to thank you for a great week last week. It was good to have almost all of our students back in the building, and we appreciate everyone’s good attitudes and patience as we got back into the swing after the long break.
We’d like to let you know about an opportunity for your family to receive a free Kinsa thermometer. Our school has joined up with Kinsa to offer free thermometers to interested families. Please see the flyer in your child’s bookbag with more details.
Our school is now collecting canned food and non-perishable goods for the Friends Feeding Friends food drive with the Second Harvest Food Bank. Please send your donations to school with your child. We will accept donations through December 15.
We’d like to let you know that Wednesday, December 9 is an early release day for all students. We will dismiss school at 12:30.
We have some important reminders to keep our community safe. If someone in your household has symptoms or has been tested for Covid-19, please make sure to keep your child at home until test results are back. The Wilkes County Health Department calls students or staff that need to complete an isolation period after a Covid-19 exposure. This information is often processed after business hours and on weekends, so please answer if you receive a call after hours from a restricted number. We realize rules about isolations and quarantines are confusing and constantly changing, so our school nurses are available to answer your questions about situations like this. You can reach out to them by phone, email, or on ClassDojo.
We look forward to a great week. Thanks for your support and encouragement from home.

About Attendance
For students who continue with remote learning note that in order for us to count your child in attendance off site, we must on a daily basis verify that the student is engaged (completing and submitting assignments), on pace (participating in the virtual classroom), or receiving academic/emotional support (directly from the teacher). If this isn't happening, your child will be counted absent. Please make sure that your child is submitting work and that you are communicating with the teacher daily. Thanks in advance for your help!
