Harvest Festival Canceled
Air quality and power concerns
A tough call
In case you missed the email from Principal Eichert, we're sad to say that we've had to make the very hard decision to cancel today's Harvest Festival. The safety and health of our community is always going to be the top priority of the school and the PTA, and we felt it was better to err on the side of caution when it came to both the diminishing air quality and potential loss of power.
We're deeply disappointed that we can't celebrate the season together, but will do our best to bring some of the joy back over the next few days. The organizing team will be discussing some ideas shortly. One of the agenda items at next month's PTA meeting will be the scheduling of events in what is becoming the new normal of "fire season."
Finally, I'd like to acknowledge the incredibly hard work put in by the Festival's organizer, Kristin Richman. After a terrific first year in 2018, she agreed to come back and do it all again, and I know that no-one is more disappointed than she is. If you see her at school, let her know how much you appreciate her!
