Bobcat Pride
Sunset Valley Elementary
Week of September 4
WE LOVE SILLY STRING!
The Principal's Den
There are approximately 240 schools that have signed up to be adopted. That total consists of 127 elementary schools, 16 intermediate schools , 53 middle schools and 40 high schools that have been adopted.
It has been an amazing response to a much needed cause. I am so proud to be an educator!! So many are asking...what can Sunset Valley do to help another school? I adopted a campus that had signed up and after the principal's first visit to her campus & within her community, she felt that her need was not great enough so she shared the name of a different campus in her same school district. This campus has lost everything! Students and staff have relocated to a new building somewhere in their town/city. I have not been able to get in touch with the campus administrator yet to know about their specific needs but once I hear more, I will share the information then.
When we begin our collection process, our vision is to fill boxes right here in our front foyer. Once it is safe to travel to the area and/or to our adopted school, I hope to take the items there personally. Teachers, staff members and parents are welcome to join me. We will have to see what we will need to get the items delivered, i.e. UHaul, trailers, trucks etc.
Grandparent's Luncheon on September 11th
There will be seating available in the cafeteria, on the stage and in the gym. Please remember to bring your driver's license, as you will need it to enter the school. Your grandchild will be bringing home a form on Tuesday, Sept. 5th. Please be sure and return the form to school no later than Friday, Sept. 8th.
Parent University - September 12
Each grade level will present two separate sessions with the same content at each session. There will be several optional sessions available including one with campus administrators, Kristen & Anna, our dyslexia specialists, Mrs. Bowersock & Mrs. Serrano, GT specialist Mrs. Yancy, our co -curr classes, and our instructional specialist Ms. Mack.
