LOCS Safety Summit
Lake Orion Community Schools will hold a Safety Summit at Lake Orion High School (495 East Scripps Road, Lake Orion) on Monday, April 17 from 6:30-9 p.m.
The goal of the evening is to provide the community with information about how the district and its law enforcement partners work together to keep the students and staff safe within our schools.
The free event is open to families, as well as the general community. The evening will feature a resource fair with community partners, as well as a presentation in the LOHS auditorium informing the community of the various processes, practices, and prevention strategies implemented in the district, along with the necessary preparation for an emergency response in our schools.
The LOCS community can assist by sharing what topics they would like to be addressed in the presentation.
If you are interested in contributing, please complete the online submission form where the topics can be shared with the safety committee presenters to assist in the preparation for the evening. The form will close on Thursday, April 13 at 4 p.m.
Following the presentation, the information presented and a Frequently Asked Questions document will be posted on the LOCS Safety and Security page.
Thank you for your interest in Lake Orion Community Schools and support of our safety practices and procedures.

School Dismissal Manager
We have started utilizing School Dismissal Manager (SDM), a program for parents to communicate early student departures. LOHS successfully used the SDM program last year. It is accessible on either computer or smartphone, allowing parents the opportunity to officially submit an early dismissal request without calling the school.
On approximately September 22, you should have received a communication from School Dismissal Manager with additional details. Parents are encouraged to check their designated email accounts. Also, be advised the message might be redirected to your “junk” folders. The welcome email from SDM provides all relevant information necessary to activate and begin using your account.
Family Portal
Just a reminder that Sendmoneytoschool.com has been replaced by lakeorion.familyportal.cloud. Please visit the site to set up a lunch account for your student. There is a tutorial at the bottom of the Family Portal page that walks you through the process of setting up an account. Information on meal prices for the 2022-2023 school year are listed below:
