Plano ISD Remote Learning Plan

  • Plano ISD’s Remote Learning Plan is designed to be asynchronous. This simply means that the coursework is delivered in a format that allows students the flexibility to access it on their own time. As such, teachers and students do not have to be online at the same time. However, adjustments have been made so that teachers may provide synchronous opportunities for students as well. These must be optional times for students, not required. If any instruction is provided during live communication, it should also be made available for all students to access at any other time. This provides teachers the flexibility to offer tutoring, circle times, read-alouds, etc. in a synchronous manner, as long as participation is not required.

*Teachers are required to set up virtual office hours when they are available for parents and students to contact them during the day.

*No grades are to be taken this week (March 23-27). This week is to be spent setting up communications, connecting to all students, ensuring they have access, and providing initial lessons and information. We need to remember that Chromebook distribution is happening THIS week, so all students will not have access to begin participating right away.
