HELPING CHILDREN COPE WITH TRAGEDY

Dear Families,

Recent events have been shocking, horrific and heartbreaking. Starting the day today was very emotional for families and staff. However, like so many other days, your children (our students) supported us. Their smiles, laughter, excitement, shirts with positive messages, fun sneakers, everything about them lifted our spirits and reminded us of the important things in all of our lives.

Our partnership is of utmost importance as we help the children of Mansfield achieve social, emotional and academic success. Below is a link to Superintendent Murphy's newsletter which includes several resources for families. In addition, I am adding links to more resources that we have received throughout the day.

We thank the Town of Mansfield, Police Department, Fire Department, the District Leadership and everyone involved in adding all the safety measures to our facilities over these past few years.

If your child needs any support please reach out to their teacher, a member of our counseling staff or an administrator and we will do all we can to help.

Thank you,

John Nieratko

THE SCIENCE OF SOUND

For the last 4 weeks in music class Miss Steinbach's 4th grade classes have been learning about the science of sound and instruments families. The students have been doing some fun experiments and so far they have built instruments in the woodwind and percussion families including popsicle stick kazoos, straw reeds, and paper plate tambourines. We've been having a blast!

Dr. Freedman's Secret Agents

Dr. Freedman’s secret agents have been presenting a discovery quest each month. Students have taught their classmates about things such as inflation, how money is made, and color blindness.
