Dear Parents / Carers,
Well we have made it to the end of our first half term and what a rollercoaster it has been! Thankfully everyone is safe and well and there has been plenty of amazing learning happening. Teachers and pupils alike seem to have found their stride and the 'new normal' has become just 'normal'. I would like to thank everyone that has supported and encouraged us over these seven weeks, your kind words at our virtual parent consultations and on collection and drop off really lifted us and I know that many of you feel reassured knowing the many measures we have in place for keeping everyone safe.
Hopefully you will have a wonderful, safe and happy half term holiday. However, should you or your child test positive for Covid-19, it is still absolutely vital that we are informed in order that we can notify pupils and staff who may have been in close contact with them. This is especially important in the first few days after school has broken up so please don't wait to tell us when we return. Please contact us via admin@kf.starmat.uk to report a positive case. If your child is self-isolating for 14 days, meaning that they cannot return to school on the 2nd November, please also call school on 01937 557228 and leave a message.
Many thanks and as always, have a lovely weekend
Mrs Karen Williams

Pupil Premium & Free School Meals Funding
As you will be aware, Universal Free School Meals are automatically available to all children in EYFS, Year 1 and Year 2. However, if you meet certain criteria, your child may be eligible for Free School Meals for the whole of their primary education as well as additional funding to support them with their education, called a 'Pupil Premium'. This additional funding benefits our school to support us to increase your child's attainment.
To qualify for Free School Meals and Pupil Premium funding, you must fulfil one of the following criteria:
- Universal Credit, provided you have an annual net earned income of no more than £7,400, as assessed by earnings from up to three of your most recent assessment periods (£616.67 per month);
- Income Support;
- Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance;
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance;
- Support under part six of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999;
- The guarantee element of Pension Credit;
- Child Tax Credit, provided you are also not entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual household gross income that does not exceed £16,190 (as assessed by HMRC); or
- Working Tax Credit run-on, paid for four weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit.
If your family circumstances change, you may become eligible. Please see the North Yorkshire website below for more information and to access the relevant application forms. Once your application has been processed, school will be notified automatically . If you require any support with understanding Free School Meals and Pupil Premium funding or help with your application, please call one of our admin team who will be happy to advise.
