Murder at the Play
President Lincoln and Mrs. Lincoln went to Ford's Theatre to see a show. John Wilkes Booth snuck into Lincoln's box and shot him. He shot him on the side of the head. Booth then jumped out of the box, and gave a short speech on stage. President Lincoln was dying in Ford's Theatre. So he was taken to a house. Lincoln later died there.
The country honors President Lincoln.
He helped make the country free.
Lincoln believed everyone should be free.
During Booth's and Herold's escape they made a few mistakes. For example, while on the river they went the wrong way. This put Booth and Herold closer to the North. Also Booth and Herald got locked in the barn at Garrett's house. While locked in the barn, Booth got shot and Herold surrendered.
