Happy Long Weekend, Tiger Families!
Because of our campus professional learning day Friday, we won’t have our weekly newsletter video but are still providing the important dates and information for the upcoming week below. Our Tiger Family Newsletter Video will return next week!
I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend with friends and family. As events in the last weeks have sadly reminded us, the moments we have are truly precious.

Important Dates and Information
Reminder that Monday, October 9th is a student and staff holiday.
Join us for a fundraiser to support Timberline Elementary PTA! Come in to the Chipotle at 3010 State Hwy 121 Suite 800 in Euless on Thursday, October 12th between 4:00pm and 8:00pm. Be sure to tell the cashier you’re supporting the cause to make sure that 50% of the proceeds will be donated to Timberline Elementary PTA. You don’t have to cook dinner and you help raise funds for our school?? Now that’s a WIN-WIN!
This coming Friday, October 13th is Picture Day for your child. Reminders with ordering information will be sent home this week.
Also this Friday evening, October 13th, is our Dad’s Club Family Campout!! Tent set up begins at 5:30 p.m. Hamburgers and hotdogs will be served for dinner Friday and breakfast will be provided Saturday morning. Fun will be served the whole time!! I’ll be there with my hacky sacks!! Please remember this is not a drop off event; all students must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
A reminder from GCISD that any birthday treats brought to school must be store bought and wrapped. Treats are distributed at the end of day (At Timberline, end of day is 2:30 -2:50). See the attached guideline details from the district. *Excuse typo in line 3. The district is correcting this Tuesday.
We know you received the Rainy Day Dismissal procedure last week, but wanted to share it again for quick reference.
The most important thing to know is that our procedure is the same as last year’s and includes "no walk ups" at dismissal. As we shared at the beginning of the year, this is to further ensure your child’s safety and a decrease in pedestrian traffic through the car line. When we have bad weather, it also allows us to keep our Tigers sheltered from the elements as much as possible. The procedure for rainy day dismissal is:
- The car loading procedure we’ve used this year will remain the same.
- Walkers will either walk as usual or go with car riders. You must email the office before 2 p.m. if your child normally walks home but you do not want them to walk in rain.
- Dismissing students in light rain/sprinkling is determined by campus discretion based on the safety of our Tigers.
- In the event of lightning or heavy rain, no students will be releases outdoors and will be picked through the car rider line.
Knowing that rainy days will cause dismissal to run a bit slower but that your child’s safety remains our #1 priority, we thank you for your patience and support. We will get your Tiger to you as quickly and as safely as possible!
The last few weeks we’ve talked a lot about Taste of Timberline. If you’ve been meaning to call or email but have gotten busy, it’s not too late to help! There are all kinds of ways you can lend a hand! Email our Parent Center Coordinator at mariefrance.arancibia@gcisd.net to see how you can be a part of this great time for our kids and community!
What if I need to change how my child gets home one day?
The school will follow the direction you provided about how your child gets home each day. If there is a change to this, you must notify the office in one of the following ways:
Send a written note with your child with details for how he or she will get home that day.
Email maria.reyes@gcisd.net with details for how you child will be picked up prior to 2:00 p.m.
Call the office 817-251-5770 prior to 2:00 p.m.
Changes cannot be made by text messages or calls to teachers. Teachers are working with your children during the school day and we can’t ensure that information will get to the office.
