Georgia Colony was the 13th colony of the original 13 colonies. IT was part of the southern colonies. Established by James Oglethorpe from England in 1732. Named after King George II of England. The colony was established because Mr. Oglethorpe wanted to help the less fortunate of London by bringing them to the New World. Went with 35 families arriving in Savannah.
