Late, but Latest Colony

Georgia Colony was the 13th colony of the original 13 colonies. IT was part of the southern colonies. Established by James Oglethorpe from England in 1732. Named after King George II of England. The colony was established because Mr. Oglethorpe wanted to help the less fortunate of London by bringing them to the New World. Went with 35 families arriving in Savannah.

The climate: Being in the south, the winters weren't difficult to survive. The warm climate made it possible to grow crops throughout the year and was ideally suited for plantations making the major income for people to be crops.

Economics: The major industry in the Province of GA was agriculture growing rice, sugar and exporting tobacco, cotton, corn, vegetables, grain, fruit and livestock. Trade occurred only within colonies.

Religion: Gave religious freedom to Everyone except Catholics

Key People: If it weren't for James Ogelthorpe and William Stephens, GA wouldn't have been the way it is today, because they created very strict rules for them to earn income..
